About Us

At Building Lasting Love, we’re not just here to give advice — we’re here to create honest conversations. We know that love doesn’t always look picture-perfect. It gets messy, quiet, overwhelming, and sometimes even boring. But that’s exactly where the real work — and real connection — happens.

Our goal is to make those everyday moments easier to navigate. We don’t speak from a pedestal. We speak from experience, curiosity, and a deep respect for what it takes to build something that lasts. Whether you’re in a new relationship or have been together for years, we believe every couple deserves tools that actually feel doable — not overwhelming or abstract.

This isn’t about reinventing who you are. It’s about paying attention to how you relate. We focus on what keeps couples feeling seen, understood, and close — even when life is chaotic. Some episodes are reflective. Some are playful. Some are direct and to the point. But all of them are rooted in one question: How can we connect better, without losing ourselves in the process?

One thing we care deeply about is keeping things practical. That’s why we include challenges and simple exercises in most episodes — things you can try today, not just talk about. Our listeners have said these tools helped them open up, reconnect, and have conversations they hadn’t had in years. That’s the kind of impact we’re here for.

We also know that no two relationships look the same. We’re not here to promote one idea of love or one “right” way to do things. We respect differences. We respect growth. And we think real love is something you create together — not something you stumble into by luck.

This podcast was started because I genuinely love relationships — not just being in one, but learning how they work, how they break, and how they heal. That love is what drives everything we create here.

So if you’ve ever thought, “I want more, but I don’t know where to start” — you’re not alone. And you’re in the right place.

Welcome to Building Lasting Love. We’re glad you’re here.

Meet Your Host

Host Tyler Hong Portrait

When I started this podcast, I knew I wanted to help people connect more deeply — but I didn’t realize how much it would challenge me to grow at the same time. Each episode I create pushes me to reflect more honestly on how I show up in my own relationships. I’m not just talking about ideas on the mic — I’m actively working on these things behind the scenes too.
There have been moments where I’ve had to sit with uncomfortable truths about myself — times I didn’t listen well, moments where I avoided hard conversations, or even times I didn’t know how to express what I really needed. This podcast has made me face those parts of myself, and do the work. Not to be perfect, but to be better. To show up more fully and consistently in my relationship.
My background isn’t in therapy or counseling — I’m just someone who’s spent a lot of time paying attention to relationships, both mine and other people’s. I ask a lot of questions, I read, I observe, and I try things. I care about people. And I care about what happens when two people decide to stick with each other through all the messy, everyday parts of love.
This project has also reminded me how many couples are out there trying to figure it out quietly, without a lot of support. That’s why I keep things simple and direct. No fluff, no preachy advice — just real conversations and practical tools that help couples connect, whether they’re struggling or doing fine and just want more.
I’m learning that intimacy isn’t something you master once. It’s something you practice. And it doesn’t always look the way you expect — sometimes it’s just taking the time to really listen, or choosing to be kind even when you’re tired.
If you’ve made it this far, I appreciate you. Thanks for being here. Whether you’re listening for yourself, your partner, or just because relationships fascinate you the way they do me — I hope something here sticks with you. I’m figuring it out in real time, just like you.
And I think that’s what makes it real.
